Is it Still Surprising?

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

With every new twist towards theocracy,
Comes news items rife with frivolity,
Where ministers idle,
Make mere man their idol,
And get caught in pants-down hypocrisy.

Thought about using what is reproduced below as my middle couplet, but then thought above presented a more theologically-sound, bible-based and alliterative thought.

“Where Shepherds of God,
Worship the male bod…”

Captured by the Game

Monday, March 15th, 2010

There once was a girl, Rielle Hunter
And many who’d like to confront her,
But now she’s made known:
Feels no need to atone!
Bet John Edwards wishes he could blunt her.

God’s Chosen

A Vatican Aide named Balducci,

All dressed-up in Prada and Gucci,

Trafficked in bribes,

And not in the scribes,

Choosing not wisdom but hoochie!

Edwards’ Popularity

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

According to a new article, John Edwards is the most unpopular person ever polled (by this particular polling organization). Now, I think he’s pretty despicable, but really, less popular than Hitler?

John Edwards’ career path has proved,

That once one’s scruples are removed,

One cheats on one’s spouse,

Impregnates a louse,

And is thusly no longer approved.

Tiger Woods’s Wood

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Traveled to a Midwest Christmas with the inlaws on Saturday. Throughout the airport were now obsolete Accenture ads featuring Person of the Year, Tiger Woods. I guess the global campaign to remove all the associations isn’t happening so quickly. The most apropos of these airport ads showed Woods staring into a water trap with the caption, “It’s what you do next that counts.” I snapped a pic with my cell phone which I hope to upload later. But the ad, of course, inspired this little ditty:

Good behavior is what Tiger Woods should

have done instead whatever Woods could

But if you want to know why

his life went awry

It’s because Woods was led by Woods’ wood.
