If there is a lone defining theme,
Of the Democrats’ bill-passing stream,
From Healthcare to Finance,
It’s more than just slim chance,
They pass over pie for the cream!

Meaning they don’t pass anything really meaningful… Mandated health insurance without an affordable public option… Financial Reform without the Volcker Amendment… How do we get corporate influence out of government?

They’re Not Well…

For seeking out patients,
Then losing their patience,
And dropping women with breast cancer?

“Tucked into the health reform legislation is a controversial provision allowing states to expand coverage for family planning services under Medicaid without a waiver from the federal government… ‘How can you spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives? How does that stimulate the economy?’ House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said of the provision, according to Reuters.”

Well, it’ll stimulate SOMETHING, Mr. Boner.

The G.O.P. labels extortion,
Completely way out of proportion,
Showing that they’re incensed,
And also against,
All female sex – not just abortion!

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Friday that if Republicans gain seats in Congress this fall, opponents of the new health-reform law might be able to repeal parts of it even if the GOP lacks a majority.

But he acknowledged there is “probably not” a chance of repealing the full measure while President Barack Obama is in office.

Much to the Republicans’ chagrin,
Health care reform they find they can’t spin,
Or even repeal,
So how does it feel,
When reality finally sets in?

You’ll recall that I previously rhymed about Rush Limbaugh’s pledge to move to Costa Rica (where they have socialized medicine) if healthcare reform passed.

A man of considerable heft gets…
To make what’s a not very deft bet,
Which as soon as he loses,
He’s full of excuses!
So why hasn’t Rush packed and left yet?

Amidst reports of violence and vandalism against Democratic congressmen that voted for Health Care Reform, I composed this little ditty. You do know what to call people that try to incite fear and attack political leaders, don’t you? You do know what liberal citizens would be called if they were the perpetrators?

Now daily in Washington there’re fists,
As Repubs set out to cause errors, twists…
In Health legislation.
Regarding our nation,
Does that make them better than terrorists?

There is a whole host of Republican ideas in the health care bill. Why won’t a single Republican vote for it?

The Democrats did try to listen,
To make their health care reform glisten,
But the entire time,
Encountered the crime,
Of GOP common sense missin’.
